Bio

Battalion Commander David Sims began his career with Bradley County Fire and Rescue on January 1, 2010. He initially focused on obtaining state certifications for the fire service while working with various crews. In 2011, he was appointed interim Engineer for Battalion 2, Station 8. During this period, he earned his Fire Fighter II certification and completed courses in Swiftwater and Wildland Fire Operations. In 2013, Sims was promoted to Lieutenant and assigned to Battalion 2, Station 10, where he continued to advance his qualifications by obtaining Instructor 1 and Officer 1 certifications. In the fall of 2022, he was promoted to Battalion Commander with Battalion 1.
