Emergency Notifications

Cleveland-Bradley County Emergency Management Agency utilizes several methods to communicate valuable community information directly to residents using the latest technology. It is the responsibility of the Emergency Management Agency to notify the public of actual or impending large-scale incidents. Our duty is to inform the public of what the actual situation is, what they need to do to stay safe, and what emergency responders are doing to help the situation. These services are secure, reliable, and easy to use.

CivicPlusWe utilize a state-of-the-art product to send notifications to the public. Residents of Bradley County and those in neighboring communities can immediately begin receiving pertinent information by signing up via one of the two following methods:

1. Setup account with name, email, and language
2. Add phone and address
3. Join Emergency Alert group
4. Choose how you want to receive alerts

5. Select Finish to submit

IPAWS is a national alert system that Bradley County has been approved to use in the event of imminent danger. We are able to send SMS alert messages to all cell phones within reach of cell towers located in Bradley County as well as send alert messages to television and radio stations. You do not have to sign up for this service.

Parking

Public parking should be positioned in areas that do not obstruct the exit or operation of emergency vehicles. For Station 11, parking is available in the Baseball Complex parking lot. At Stations 12 and 13, parking is permitted around the building, provided it does not interfere with emergency operations.

Restricted Access

The public is not permitted to enter any rooms marked with red trim around the floor, including bedrooms and officer rooms. These areas are reserved for Fire and EMS personnel, and the use of beds is strictly prohibited.

Kitchen Restrictions

Access to kitchen appliances and storage areas is restricted. The public is not allowed to use these facilities.

Pets

Pets are not allowed inside the living quarters. However, they are permitted in the bay area, where kennels are provided. Please note that space is limited to a few pets per station.

Safety and Conduct

The station officer or senior firefighter has the authority to ask anyone to leave the building if their presence poses a safety concern to the public or on-duty staff.

No Smoking

Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the building, including in the bay areas.

Children’s Safety

Parents are required to supervise their children at all times. Children should not be allowed to roam freely or climb on furniture.

Bay Area Restrictions

For safety reasons, the public is not allowed to congregate or move freely within the bay area.

Storm Ready Rooms

Storm ready rooms will only be open for occupancy at the designated start time as agreed upon by BCEMA and BCFR Chiefs of Staff.

Departure

Once the storm ready rooms are no longer in use, the public is required to vacate the premises at the designated time. Please ensure that all personal belongings and trash are removed. Trash cans are available on site for disposal.
